This year’s 3rd Humtv Award night was total fun. Combination of Ahmed Ali Butt and Vasay Chauhdry as hosts was eclectic and their antiques were great amusement. Even though I missed many faces: Nouman Ijaz, Saba Hameed, Arij Fatima, Aiza Khan, Danish Taimoor and many others but those who appeared made sure to bring out their best.
It is the ultimate star-studded event that is just as much about the fashion on the red carpet as it is the awards.
And while many celebrities, including Mahira Khan and Ayesha Khan, got the look right at Humtv Awards – dazzling in sophisticated designer gowns and stunning heels – others didn’t quite make the impression they were hoping for.

Mehwish Hayat
She’s known for her daring performances in Item song ‘Billi’ and Mehwish Hayat certainly didn’t shy away from making a bold sartorial statement with her outfit. Mehwish wore a striking red revealing gown and showing her cleavage. But this fish style gown is out of fashion.
Faatima Khan Butt
The designer & Ahmed Butt’s wife — who usually takes risks on the red carpet — failed to excite in this dress. ‘Oh Fatima, what were you thinking? This is a classic case of a dress looking better on the model than the celebrity. It’s frump-tastic!’
Hareem Farooq
She opted for a Ali Xeeshan dress, but it wasn’t quite impressive. It starts off well with the alternate black to and …….is it skirt or ghaghra??? whatever black panels making an impact but phases out towards the end. Too much happening with it. Don’t you think?
Angelina Malik
This is an outfit that I dont like with its color contrast. The black top with yellow skirt dress was plain drab and the hair was so not fun. We hope Malik comes back with a bang.
Maria Wasti
While we agree that ‘unusual’ looks work for some people, it might not work for everyone. Maria’s kaftan dress is ill-fitting and just too plain for the red carpet.
Anoushey Ashraf
We like her quirky sense of dressing, but she seems to have got carried away this time. This leather top with with long skirt makes her look like an actress out of a Sci-fi drama.

Cybil Chauhdry
We always adored Cybil’s style but this one is an eyesore. Black jacket and trouser with white shirt and she put on glasses in the whole function why but why??And what’s with the tightly tied hair? A big disaster, we say. Baby fire your stylist!
Sanam Jung
No problem with the dress except that it is little ill-fit. Had Sanam carried the dress well, even her perfect hair and heels would have not created winders for her. Better Luck next time lady!
Maya Ali
No problem with the dress, but surely with Maya’s choice of carrying an outfit like this at such a prestigious night. Plus, no haird-do. It looks no efforts have been put up by the actress in dressing up.
Sanyia Shamshad
The ‘Choti’ star surprised us in a stunning black gown. The shape of the gown is not flattering because of its oversized silhouette — it would have been better suited to a taller woman. With her short straight hair, it seems there is a lot going on. Unfortunately this one does not work for her. It looks even the actress was not-so-confident posing in it.
